Sustainable Development Goals

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by world leaders in September 2015 officially came into force on 1 January 2016 at a United Nations Summit.

The SDGs call for partnerships by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet and aim at ending all forms of poverty. Countries over the next fifteen years are expected to mobilise efforts to achieve the SDGs whilst ensuring that “no one is left behind. “All stakeholders – governments, civil society and the private sector among others, are expected to contribute to the realisation of the new agenda.

Recognising our role as an NGO in ensuring that “no one is left behind,” CLARiT developed the “SDG’s CLARiFIED” Programme aimed at, but not limited to; promoting research on the SDG’s and publishing findings in the CLARiT Journal and other media; building the capacity of women, children, youth, Workers and Trade Unions and other groups in the SDG s; raising awareness on the SDGs and; shaping laws and policies to enable the timely realisation of the SDG’s.

We have so far strengthened the capacities of students in four primary schools, two Senior High Schools and a number of youth in various Associations.
